I could 'see' the story so vividly. It was as if I were watching a movie.

If You are into themes such as the Da Vinci Code, Than I would suggest the first book that intros the Prof 'From the Da Vinci Code' Named 'Angels and Demons' AWESOME. Also The Sigma Protocol By Robert Ludlum. also the author of THE BOURNE SUPREMACY. Also I just finished Steven Kings Newest Book
' CELL'I was so into this latest book that I did NOT stop reading until I was finished ,, And the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.. and my MOST favorite of all. The Lord of the Rings. I have ALWAYS loved the trilogy 'WAY before the Movie' and the Books are so much more in depth. I never get tired of reading them. ~_~ I hope this helped You. Angels and Demons would be a great book to start with.Best Wishes to You.

I think there are some illustrated children's books that could be good reads for just about everyone, adults included -- The Missing Piece by Shel Silerstein or any of his other titles, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak, Friends by Taro Gomi. These books and so many other good children's books help remind us of things we often forget, not to mention there great for kids too!
Also, I would suggest The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery--a great read!
And of course I can't forget to mention Richard Bach--you know the title Johnathan Livingston Seagull, but he has other great titles too, like One, and Illusions:the adventures of a reluctant messiah.
Just read. Like so many others have said, not every book is for every person just as not every person is of the same perspective...

There aren't any books that I think everyone should read, but I think everyone should read some books.

For entertainment, not education or moral value, mind you, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Mists Of Avalon are some I have enjoyed and would read over and over again.
