That's the tough part about our 4-year system. Or however short the time it is. Anyone who steps in now will already be in over their head. To jump in and completely change the policy would be a defensive nightmare with horrible consequences, leaving our nation weak and defenseless.
Many people would like to go back before WWII, after the first great war, when the U.S. was still reeling from it, and trying to be very introverted, staying out of the second world war, until we got hit at Pearl Harbor, and we couldn't stay out any longer. We keep trying that, and keep getting hit with such things, like 9-11. No matter what we do, we have our enemies, and we either fight them or change our flag.

it doesnt matter what your standpoint was you would be hated if you let people in and hated if you kept them out. so i would keep them out for security reasons and financial reasons. those mexican borders would be so tight that a fly wouldnt get through without a green card. the drugs and gangs would be leaving the country to go there instead of vice versa.
