I'm an adult woman, and yet, to this very day... my boyfriend and my parents don't get along!! They all seem to hate each other! I always get stuck in the middle trying to decide who's side I should take.
What do I need to do... if anything... to make sure everyone is getting along?? Should I even care? Should I get involved? Should I stand back? How can I stay out of the middle??

I think you should talk to your parents and your boyfriend and remind them they both love YOU and out of respect for you, they need to act civil towards each other. Them fighting hurts you and only you.
As far as taking sides, make your own opinion about what's going on and stick to it. Maybe they'll start to see things your way.
I know it can be very hard getting along with boy/girlfriend's parents, especially if one or both is convinced they are always right to the end of the earth. My boyfriend had to finally put his foot down and demand they be civil towards me. But at the same time, I also had to prove myself to them by working hard and showing I treated their son right.
Don't take sides. Be your own leader and let them follow.

Which is it? Do you want to do something or stay out of it? Have you tried talking to them? Do they have a specific reason that they just can't get over? Is there something one would like the other to stop doing? If they can't get along at all, even if that means just shutting up and acting like they like each other for the duration of a family function, then you have to choose which you want to have around: him or your family.

me and my gilfriend have been together for 2yrs and well her parents can't stand me and she trys to make use get along for her i do be respectful to her parents and for her they are respectful to me it is hard her parents see it as i am takeing their baby girl away from them but like she told them if you don't be nice to him then you will lose me because i love him ever sence then me and her parents are getting along better and we are about to get married and we are happy.
