You have fungus gnats.
My wife has found that GardensAlive.com has a product that you apply to the soil in the pots and it kills the larvae of the gnats. You have to use it more than once to get the full life cycle stopped but it really works. It is a bacteria that is safe and non toxic to people and pets.

In a backside of a tumbler, unload a pair of million/4 cup of white sugar. upload a million/4 cup of apple cider vinegar and upload a drop of liquid dishwashing detergent. Slowly fill the glass as much as the (close to) precise with water and stir nicely. you may ought to alter counting on how tall your glass is, i.e. extra sugar, or extra vinegar. positioned it the place the gnats are. they are attracted to the scent of the answer. while they land on it, they get caught in it and fall to the backside. I even have used this lots, truly when I even have had an infestation or some thing from a hidden, rotten potatoe or over-ripe fruit. sturdy success, those issues are annoying! :-).
