I cant find my users manual. This calculator has been great for algebra but I cant find the greek letters on it that I need for stats. Do I need them?

I found I could go to stats under "math" but I cant figure out how to make the variance and standard deviation work, it always says 'too few arguments' or 'syntax error'

I appreciate your help if you know what I am talking about!

I found the users manual on the web and its hurting my eyes I have been trying to figure it out so long! do I have to change it to statistics mode or something?
Ya, it is freaking hard. It is completely different from algebra, which I suck at so I thought it would be better... no. You have to learn what so many things are (greek letters and their formulas)

here's how i do standard deviation on my 89. type in some curly braces and the numbers you have separated by commas. store it as a variable, say, x (any letter you want) you know how to store right? type what you want (in your case the {1, 2, 3, 4} numbers)
and hit the button that has STO> on it. then just put in your stdDev(x)

i think variance will work the same way, but i never use my 89 for finding variance. in my homework it's usually easier to just do it by hand. (sorry)

oh yeah, and as far as i know you don't need your Greek letters for doing anything mathematical, but if you want 'em anyway, just hit the 2nd key and then the + button (it has CHAR in yellow letters) go to Greek, and there you have it.

How about just downloading a new manual? Stats on a TI usually consist of inputting a table first in Stat mode. But go to the link...

Ask your professor. He should be able to help you.

Is statistics hard? I'm taking it next semester :'(
