Its kind of hard to take pictures of something that isnt there.

no. I heard somewhere that telescopes aren't strong enough to get any pictures of the flag. Even the Hubble Space Telescope can't. There is also the chance that they put the flag on the far side of the moon.

I know the Hubble Telescope has photographed the moon, but it was a very diffacult process because the moon is so close, reletively speaking. As far as actual telescopic photos by amatures, I dont know.
IF you dont count telephoto lenses on astronauts cameras, I'd have to say no.
If you find any , let me know as well. I'd like to know what kind of equipment they used and how long it took.

No, all the telescopes on earth can only focus on REALLY far-away things. The moon is only aboot 250,000 miles away. Jupiter, on the other hand, is usually hundreds of millions of miles away (I think), and we can see the big Red Spot on Jupiter pretty clearly with a earth telly-scope.
