I have always been intrigued by the beauty of scandanavian women..They really seem to be the most perfect race in the world.Why is this?.Vikings/history/genes etc?

I totally agree. Ilived/worked in Sweden for a couple of months last year.I walked round with my tongue hangin out!I heard a good theory recently tho.It's because the scandinavian countries dont get a lot of sunlight so to counteract S.A.D. they use sunbeds a lot.Sunbeds are often found in gyms and there are more gyms in Sweden than there are newsagents.The alcohol is so expensive £4 a pint!! so they dont hammer their bodies.The majority of them have blonde hair and blue eyes so put all this together and you have a beautifest! The girl I met over there had brown eyes and hair-she was also stunning because she had been brought up to look after herself from day 1

The standards of beauty are cultural, not evolutionary. When south Pacific islanders were shown pictures of Miss America, they found them to be repulsive. However, they found pictures of women from their ethnic group to be appealing.
I don't know this for a fact, but my hunch is that the fashion and advertising photographers somehow chose Scandinavian women as the standard of beauty and we have been indoctrinated by their work.
Is it possibly because George Balanchine demanded tall, thin women with long necks for his ballet company?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder along with a large dose of cultural/social influence. Personally I have always found Lebanese women very beautiful.
