Did anyones doctor do this for them? Im not talking stripping membranes or anything... but actually breaking it?

I know they usually do it at the hospital and why they do it. Im overdue I was just asking if that was a possiblity. Or if anyone has heard of that.

it is not possible for your doctor to break your water at his office it has to be done in a hospital for safety reasons

No. They usually do it at the hospital. And the only reason to break the water is so that they will go into labor. Breaking the water too much before the due date could lead to an infection. Our body blocks off the cervix during pregnancy to keep bacteria out. Do not try to break it yourself!!!!!

NO, theyusually do it in the hospital if you are dilating with no contractions. They usually wait to do it because doing it too early without being in labor can lead to infection for the baby. (Mom of three natural births)

NO doctor that has a license, that is too dangerous only done in the hospital

no....but they broke mine while i was in labor and my son wasn't born until like 3-4 hrs. later.. i was soooo confused.. i though they need that to breath...

That sounds very dangerous and unadvisable...I hope that no one has, but I suspect that it's happened!
