a lot of people say that girls poot and guys fart. why does it have to be that way? are they saying that if girls fart they're not ladies? what if i wanted to say i farted?

Everyone farts. If they didn't, they would explode. The issue of whether or not it makes you a lady to do so is down to when and where you choose to do it. If you let out a ripsnorter at a dinner party, and waft the smell towards the nearest guest, then you are not terribly ladylike. The same applies if you describe in minute detail the sound, smell and texture of the last one you did.
If you fart in private, you're OK.

If you didn't fart, you'd explode! My mom and sis say "fluff" instead - like changing the name makes it smell any sweeter!?!?! I say "toot" in the presence of people I don't really know, but to everyone else? A fart is a fart. So, fart away!

poot and fart are the same damn thing,...the reason for the difference in names is cuz females are more discreat and well guys arent,.....but honestly like every else has already said, everyone does it,....doing it in fornt of everyone doesnt make you a lady for the fact that its not proper,....its kind of like the elbows on the table thing,....its not proper,....guys arent supposed to do it either....

Farting is part of nature. So, if you fart a lot, there's no problem., but why say it aloud? Just keep it to yourself.
