It should be an equal partnership and things should be done based on being considerate of others. Also, no one is obligated to do anything in a relationship, you should want to do things in a relationship that will make your significant other happy.

Bf/gf's are not obligated to do anything. They choose to do for the other as they want to keep the other happy. A bf/gf is the first step to finding true happiness. If a boy/girl thinks that the definition of bf/gf is someone that you hang out with just because they need someone to attach themselves with, they don't know the meaning of bf/gf. You're straight up friends that hangs out together, that's it.

I think that they are obligated to at least soend as much time with you as they can. I have had a series of gf at various times and I find that I want to be with them as much as possible. Some on said did I want an internet gf. what does this entail, sending virtual flowers etc?
