If you are not a "YES Person" it will not be easy. So rather then stressing yourself out and growing old quickly, plan on leaving that job. The longer you wait, the worst things get. Your boss can already tell you don't like his methods. Further, if this boss of yours has been retained by the company, there is a good chance the company shares his way of doing things. I have found some companies believe in the good old military way of doing things, (my way or the highway). They sometimes try to get their employees to agree with them, because they read a book, that told them that they would get better results if their employees supported managements decisions. Your best bet is to find somewhere that is more agreeable with your nature.
Keep in mind this advice is coming from a male. Many of us men, don't have the best people skills or the patients or even the desire required to deal with this type of person or company.
Good Luck
P.S. Some people, because of limited opportunities elsewhere, choose to be a thorn, while running the company dry: Don't waste your life, you only get one.

With a extra pair of eyes and ears in the back. While he or she
likes you , they will try to do the same with you. If they decide they
made a mistake having you work along side of them, then you will
be the target of your boss with all of their minions.
I work with a whole workforce that are minions to a dominating
boss. I have never been a yes em person no wonder I am always
on the outs, with everyone else who will crucify me when I do not
agree about something. Its tough but everyone needs to work
for a living and jobs sometimes are scarce. Keep a clean nose
and don't talk about anyone else and you might do well.

First you have to ask yourself if he's dominating or if you are accommodating. If you know you are right, but don't want to jeopardize your job, firmly state your position in a way that does not seem insubordinate, but avoid seeming "childish" about it. Ultimately, you must take into account that your job is not about personal inter-office relationships, but about the bottom line, whether in retail or professional office settings. Be focused on how you perform your job and the success of the company, and, if your boss crosses the line, rest assured that it will not go unnoticed by higher-ups.

Any boss who doesn't want input from his employees is not a good boss. Give him your ideas, and if he won't listen, there's nothing you can do. That's why they call him the boss.
If that's too frustrating, you can try talking to human resources, but it rarely works. Most HR departments know who their problem managers are, and aren't willing to address the issues. If you can't take it, you'll have to find another job.

Many of us have bosses who are dictators. What u need to do is ensure that you get what you need to do done on time. In addition look out for things that ur boss might have overlooked and make bright suggestions. dictators hate to be shown up and will eventually want to cling to you rather than dictate. It has worked for me. All the best.

First, you have my sympathy. If the boss is so power-hungry, will do anything to move up and is so unreasonable and manipulative to the point of hindering your work or moving you or anyone else out of her/his way to attain their "sick" goals, get out quick! I know how hard that is but if it's really bad, this boss will win somehow. Maybe not forever but maybe long enough to destroy you.

Art of war states if your enemy is of choleric temper, irritate him. but be careful, he's your boss and not another co-worker. do not disagree simply to disagree. disagree when appropriate and back it up with reasons why. if he is a good boss, he will see you're not a pushover, brown noser, yes man (or woman). ultimately it is his decision so he just may be on a power trip. if he has a higher up, irritate him until he blows and his manager will see or hear about that.

You gotta hope that eventually he will run the company into the ground, and then you will all be unemployed, or you can quit now and find a job where employees have a direct input to the operations: democratic versus autocratic.

Two options for you :
if you truly have no respect for him then get him alone and tell him you are gay...tell him you are worried about fitting in with everyone else..then he won't try to dominate you for fear of a lawsuit....
or
Tell him that if he does not stop being such an *** you are going to report him to the Labor Department for sexual harrassment.
