i find it very very confusing , as i am not familiar with computer and how it works {all these buttons and keys ,as well as the need for name and pass word for almost every thing, i can;t remember who goes where with what, .sorry I CANT AFORD LESSONS AT A COLLEGE

there are two book that are very very good for beginners
Computers forDummies that is a black and yellow book
this is full of information and fun to read
next is Internet for Dummies the go indepth in the workings of the inter net if the first book was not enough.
yea I was a Dummie starting out and I guess I still am in some areas LOL I still enjoy reading these books

Start out with a good internet forum. I learned a lot from overclockers.com. There are tons of forums out there devoted to PC topics. Just sign up and ask away and you can also help others as you learn.

a lot of computer stores have introduction courses. usually 2-4 hours long and very reasonably priced. they walk you through the basics and are extremely helpful. well worth the few hours and few dollars.

howstuffworks.com is a good place to start. you can learn about nearly anything. you could also choose to research on a topic and they pay you for it...$$ :)
