In the 1950's (in the UK) people were told work hard and save, come the 21st century you'll have better lifestyles. Work less hours, retire early and have loads of spare time to enjoy life and be living in a Sci-Fi type future. People had great expectations.
Well all that seems have gone pear shaped, as people are working longer hours, expected to retire later and now have very little time to enjoy their lives.
21st century? More like the 1940's. And I can't see the future getting any better.
Sorry to be a sourpuss.

You already know some of the answer as you are now three days into the future since you asked the question?
To give you a start at thinking it through for yourself think back a few years to what were things like then and think of all the changes.
When my father was born man didn't fly before he died men were standing on the moon! During most of that time computers were unknown and even those used to get into space had less power than a calculator has today.
Possibilities for the future are boundless. Open your mind to imagination and explore!

It will be mainly wireless, humanoids will be doing the physical work. Security will be foremost in all things, everyone will be chipped, which will carry all known data about them and their ancestors. Cars will in the main be driven by space signals from satellites. house shapes will change, and on that subject why are houses squares and rectangles etc, should all be round and solar panelled, looking a bit like a football half buried in the ground. Windows will be one looked thorugh only from the inside, outside will be as a one way mirror type of thing, more for security than any other advantage. the web will be instant, all tv, cinema, concerts, the internet, etc will come through one receiver to a large wall mounted projecting screen, a lot of the animals we know today will be gone, humans will be more prone to dieseses virusus. space travel will never be achieved on the same lines as a package holiday, unless we can develop transfiguration of any form of life or object. that's if we can agree to live with each other, which doesn't seem likely, as the country with the most resourses will be taken down by one with very little to sustain it.
unless nature interferes with water or fire to end it all.
in any case from my point of view I am glad i have the most of my life over, i would rather have 50 years behind me and not in front of me, not a depressive thought, just a reflection on a prediction you might say.

Alright buddy in less then 10 years their may not be a future... study history if you want to know the future... people remain the same even though technology may change.. We all probably are going to die from a mutation in the bird flu, Earthquakes, and Gamma rays or burst whatever it is when a star explodes and the impact wipes out other stars and planets thousands of light years away

I see it back to basics like the old days. A dark grey and dull sky full of carbon transmittions, and lots of dirty water. All natural resources will be merely existable and the landfill site that we see today will be piling high on our doorsteps. Alot of people will turn to solar and wind power, with more farms for these type of energy resources, when i think of that mobile advert in between the cinema trailers 'the futures bright, the futures orange', all i can think of is a orange sky from nuclear missiles being let off and explosions upon explosions of greedy money wars.

Who knows. hover cars, mobile phones the size of a sim card, wireless everything. Would you of said 20 years ago that life would be like it is now back then. Look at the mobiles now to when they come out and the power of computers and cars. Life is an amazing gift and the future can only get better.

Futurology (http://www.answers.com/futurology)
is a field of science which tries to find out what will happen in the future using logical explanations (unlike horoscopes, palm reading etc...).
A good site that will give you a good idea is:

I think that if you can imagine something then it can be done. The amazing advances in technology will shock people.Computers will take over eventually.Be wary of the web. This thing holds more knowledge than anything .Imagine if it could start making it's own decision.
