By some of the answers they skipped school can't read nor understand. Facts as you state the Richer pay a higher percentage, the poor pay none in fact they get a rebate not their money the richer give them for not earning enough the liberal way its the money us tax payers pay and I work for it they don't, most. The ones that try I don't mind helping but not forever. You are not my dependent

well... it's not so much as talking point even as it is IRS policy... there is a scale right now in effect to tax different earning groups differently, the higher earning groups pay a higher percent in taxes...
But there are also many tax shelters and loopholes that the actual percentage they currently pay is debatable...
I guess it all comes down to if a group of earners earn a certain percentage of America's income, I think they should be responsible for paying that percentage in taxes... in my opinion
in other words, if the top 10 percent earns 50 percent of America's income, then they should be responsible for 50 percent of the taxes... that's just an example and not actual numbers...
can you cite those stats... I would like to look at them...

That's hard to day since nobody ever really defines what "rich" is. (well, I've never seen it at least).
If I were to guess, it would be say the top 10% or so.
The kicker tho is that the top 10% (or so) pay the vast majority of the taxes already.
Update--Ok, I did some quick calcs based on 2003 IRS Data.
Top 20% of returns (Incomes OVER $75k) generate ~72% of Tax Revenues
Top 11% of returns (Incomes OVER $100k) generate ~61% of Tax Revenues
Bottom 79% of returns (Incomes LESS THAN $75k) generate 27% of Tax Revenues
I would doubt any resonable person would consider $75-100k as RICH. And frankly, I don't know how one could argue that the RICH don't pay the fair share of taxes? I guess it depends on what one considers "fair share" and "rich"

Why should any one have to pay more than 30% of their income in taxes?
Rich to a Democrat is earning 100,000 a year,So they are really wanting to tax the middle class.

What they propose is that some people have extra money than they do and of their tiny minds that's no longer honest. they think of they could settle on for themselves how lots disposable income the effective - that's what they are truly - have and extra clever they pay and permit the Dem's save their money. type envy is all it truly is. the fire automobiles are not getting to the wealthy persons domicile any swifter, the roads are no smoother, and that they use not one of the amenities that they are finding out to purchase. honest is the incorrect observe to apply right here.

Rich, generally speaking is the upper 10% of the income in America. You'll have to look at some statistics to see what that is.

Maybe you know who Henry Rockerfeller is. He stated that with great power comes great responsibility. With that idea he set up alot of programs around NY for poor children. This influenced their upbringing and their future success. Today the wealthy are only concerned about the next dollar. They see no morale challenge to give back to the community.

it just simply means that the richer people such as celebrities get taxed as much as the common person or household gets taxed. yet they are the ones that spend more money and own more estate and taxable items.
