and were you dilated? Im wondering if it works for people that are dilated... and didnt really work for others that werent?

Also after you took it how long did it take before you were hugging the toilet? And about how many hours did it take before you were completely cleaned out?

I would like only answers from people that have done it- not the ones telling me not to do it... or never tried it. I am just curious. I am overdue, just asking some questions. Please answer both questions.

I am going to be one of the ones who has done it, twice and still warns you a little...ok?

After I took it I was sitting on the toilet (not hugging) within a half hour, both pregnancies. I was overdue, about 2 days the first time and it didn't work, I got very sick but no baby. I was slightly dialated and tried again the next week, and I went into labour the next morning. Coincidence? I don't know.

The second time I tried it I was overdue by a week and again, very sick but had the baby the next day. It took about 3 hours to get it all out of my system. Yes, it seemed to work for me but only when I was already dialted.

My warning to you is that still now, a couple years later, I gag and sometimes have been physically sick to my stomach with the smell of oil, cooking oils, olive oil etc...

The taste, oh, I can't even go there or I will be sick again but let me say, hide it, put it in orange juice and chug it quick.

I was 39 1/2 weeks and 3cm dilated. It definitely worked and I can't say that starting labor with massive diarrhea was much fun (especially since my labor ended up being 38.5 hours long). It was almost 12 years ago so I'm trying to remember exactly but I'm thinking that it probably took about 6 hours or before I finally got it out of my system.

There are all sorts of "stories" out there about how to induce "naturally".

The only one that knows when the baby is coming is the baby. You're not going to be able to "help it along".

If you're dilated, walk around. Gravity will help you along.

Good luck!!

Just wait or try another way.... castor oil can be very dangerous! it can cause the baby to have the 1st bowl movement in the womb and the baby can then ingest this and that can be very dangerous... plus it makes you crap your brains out and could cause you to vomit... if you ask me i think waiting to have a happy healthy baby is worth the wait. i know you only want answers from people who have tried it.. i never have only because my friend did and thats what happened to her and sadly she lost her lil girl.....
