They are playing just enough to advance

If we get through to the quaters I figure Rooney will have become fit enough to play 90 minutes comfortably. If he gets scoring we'll be back on track.

However, even if he doesn't, we have goals from midfield too. And if Lampard hits form finishing, with the oppportunities he's creating, he'll be an animal.

In defence, if we sort out the set-pieces (from every corner Sweden looked capable of scoring), we're just fine.

It was a relief to see Holland, rather than Argentina (did someone say 'winners'?), as our potential QF opponents.

For England, it'll take a couple of players to 'click', and everyone else to avoid injury or suspension (especially with Owen gone), but if everything does fall into place, we can put a great run together.

Otherwise we'll probably lose in the quaters, to baldy and horseface.

I havent watched england play, until tuesday night against sweden, where i felt the 2nd half of the game was slow of england, i felt they werent focusing and probably thought they had successed with the first goal. The last few minutes of the match was an out cry of what england had needed, a goal scored well. However thinking only seconds would tick by, they gave sweden an easy advantage to score once more, with the whistle being blown it was over.

Average. I just wish Erickson could realize that England have the potential to be a much better team with a different line-up. If the team were built around Gerrard, they could be the best. He's taking away from his ability and potential by playing him in an odd role. They probably won't advance past the quarterfinals.

I think they played OK in first two games and then played well in the 3rd despite criticism from the 'experts'. I thought they were playing good attacking football with a strong defence. Lets hope they go on from strength to strength

Apart from a few moments of inspiration they have been poor. The manager has been poor and now we have no decent match fit strikers.

Still, we can only dream and hope of a turnaround. If not there is always next time.... and the time after that.... and the time after that.... etc
