There seems to be more Republicans than Democrats many claim, this is consitent with the fact that intelligent people are the minority in this country.

Republicans need not try to argue against this fact, it is also understandable that they will try to do so, being that they are not smart enough to take simple instruction. Lets see how many attempt to answer despite the fact they are unable to articulate ideas and have been instructed not to crash this party.

Coombs1973, I would tell your husband to wipe my a s s, and then pay him 50 cents, I would also tell him to do the same for every other Democrat. My father tells his Republican workers to keep their mouths shut or go home jobless. But you lie anyway

Oh and Coombs, you told me to use spell check? I mispelled consistent, you, my dear, mispelled "goverment"

In all fairness, I have to say that there are both intelligent and not-so-intelligent people on both sides. However, the Christian fundamentalists have hijacked the Republican Party, and fundamentalists tend to be less educated than non-fundamentalists and are often intolerant of ambiguity. This is probably the main reason why Republicans often seem less than intelligent. And unfortunately, Bush exemplifies this.

You dad raised a dummy - if he is a millionaire shame on him.
Learn the check spelling button. Republicans know where it is.

Republicans can not be dumb & control the money, goverment & military too. If so, what kind of nitwits does it make the Democrats that help us into power, yes Democrats & Independents voted for Bush. You are always whining about Republicans being rich & in big business power, we can control most of big business & be dumb.

I have generations of college educated family plus most of my Republican friends come from college educated families. Yahoo says 36% of Republicans have degrees while only 28% of Democrats have degrees. Republicans earn more money too!

They compensate for intelligence with bullying and arrogance.

Let's face it. Intelligence has a lot of weaknesses - intelligent people tend to be tolerant and understanding. When confronted with blatent assertion, it holds few strongholds -especially when a logical counter attack is met with "You don't support the troops!"

People in America don't want to be smart - otherwise we wouldn't have "Revenge of the Nerds" movies. They want to be good looking and drive big pickups.

Also, since 50% of the poeple in the world are below-average intelligence - a few selfish people manipulate that half, and then take the majority. It isn't right, but it is selfishly rewarding.

When the planet is uninhabitable from pollution, global warming, and nuclear bombs, those of us who thought about it can say "I told you so..."

But what do we win?

There have actually been some studies on this.. well not being dumber but education levels.

Being a democrat is directly proportional to the level of higher education your family has overall. Meaning the more educated you are and if you have come from a more educated family, you are more likely to be a democrat.

Note: educated is referring to bachelor of arts, sciences or higher

Because they think the answers are really easy when told to them. When Democrats look for answers they don't have one source that they can rely on so we go to many and become more educated then the average Republican.

I'm liberal independent, so I'll not take a defensive stance on behalf of Republicans. However, isn't it a bit of cowardice on your part to make a blanket statement of a political party which spans millions of people from every possible socio-economic background and deny them the opportunity to debate your overly simplistic assumption?

Both parties have their own flaws, that's all I'm willing to acknowledge in this limited context.

First off, the republicans tend to talk about more & better education but continue to erect road blocks and cut funding. They want the general, voting public to be stupid because they have a better chance of getting their vote that way (and it works).

Second, Anyone that would blindly listen to W's incessant, fascist ranting and still vote for the moron would have to be pretty ignorant of the real facts.

Why be so narrow minded as to only allow yourself to see one side of an arguement. Why not open the question to allow those who do not share your opinion to speak freely as the freedom of speach would allow all to do? Lastly, in reguards to your generalization to the intelligence level of Republicans vs Democrats, you should realize that, "It is not how smart you are, it is how you are smart."

As a Democrat I'm not sure I accept the premise of your question. The REAL question should be why are politicians so slavish to special interest money?

Because they think with their wallets and not their brain.

Republicans have removed the word "compassion" from their Official English Language Dictionary

If you read between the lines here, it seems the real question being asked is...

"Why can't Democrats win an election?"

Admitting the real reason would be humiliating, wouldn't it?
