Yes it is very true. Real nails take a beating from the fake nails. So my suggestion is if you want to keep them for long time, don't worry about the real ones. If you are thinking of just a temporary fix, dont do it.

I had "fake" nails for YEARS and honestly, I think you need to have them soaked off. If you take them off any other way, it will definitely ruin your own nails. I had to move, and didn't want anyone else touching my nails, so I've gone natural; and my nails are just as healthy as they were before I started having them done.
If you do decide to have them done, be sure that the place you go to is VERY clean; otherwise you will get a fungus or mold under the acrylic. YUCK!!

Yes, If you don't apply and care for fake nails properly, they could damage your real nails. Maintenance is extremely important when wearing fake nails. Artificial nails should fit securely, because if any air gets trapped the false and the real thing, bacterial, fungal and yeast infections can occur. Wash your hands and read the instructions carefully before applying nails. To ensure that your real nails stay healthy, remove the fakes after 3 weeks and apply a cuticle oil or protein treatment to help rehydrate your natural nails. Short-term artificial nails can also help minimize damage.

Yes, there's truth in the fact that fake nails that have been put on at a salon can damage your fingernails...but there are things you can do to make them healthier after you have them taken off. Hint: it's much easier to have a salon take them off ... if you do it yourself, there's a chance of doing more damage to the top layer of your nail. When you have them removed, have them put a strengthening top coat on your nails ... this will definately help. (Or, you can go to the store and buy some of that strengthening polish yourself...it'll probably be cheaper.) Put a few coats on....and in a couple of days they should be back to normal. Hope this helps !

Be yourself. I never understand fake girls. Fake hair, fake nails, fake eyes, it makes me wonder sometimes if hey have a fake gender.

Anything that you adhere to your body and isnt natural, will have slight or pretty bad consequences. As for fake nails, they cover the superficial epidermic layer of your nail bed, making it harder to "breathe" thus increasing the possibilities of catching an infection or getting it all pussed up.

yes they are not lying to you. after you take them off your nails are super thin and sometimes they can get infected but then there are other people who the fake nails dont affect them. but i guess it all depends on the person and how thick your nails are.

yes it does, when you get fake nails, the glue the tip to your real nails and they put acrylics on it, when you take the tip out you will get and indent in the middle of your nails, and you can get fungus on your nails if you do that. so just get a manicure and get them polish is soo much better.

I had mine professionally done for my wedding, and it took over a year to grow them back. They filed the surfaces of my nails and caused all kinds of little cracks, so when they were growing back the following year, everytime it got to a cracked point, the nail would break again. I hated it!
