elimintating fish flies?

i live in michigan close to the water. does anyone out there know how to get rid of the fish flies that bombard our house every year?

AWW... I've seen them the last time I was there! Oh my God, I thought they were dragonflies :) Amaizing...

I'm not sure what you can do about those insects, but I've heard it only lasts for couple of days and they don't bite... even though they scared the living day-lights out of me when I saw one land on me... lol... I didn't know what it was, and it was so sudden :)
