I know people will try to differentiate between whether I want to go into the theater or movies & the answer is BOTH! It's always been my belief that the majority of what would be considered the greatest actors in the world started in the theater (& later got into movies). My first love has always been film but I want to prepare for a long & fortuitous career. I always thought I'd move to L.A. first & train out there but regardless of what people say, there appears to be more "actor credit" given to people trained in NY. Please Help - I'm truly interested in your opinion. Thank You!

How about Actors Bootcamp?! Also, Actors' Studio and NYFA (NY Film Academy), Jullliard, Circle in the Square in NY, Stella Adler's Acting Conservatory in Los Angeles.

Both coasts offer live theater, as well as film, so you have to decide where you would feel most at home. You don't say where you are right now but, the cost of moving the furthest distance has to be a consideration. Best of luck to you. We'll look for you on the marquees!

It sounds as if you are one of the few 'want to be actors', that has his/her head screwed on right!

If you are serious about theater and film - go to NYU for a BFA and and MFA. It looks good on your resume and it will help you get a good agent.

Unfortunately, many actors do not have a barometer for what agents and casting directors want to see on a resume, as far as training.

A BFA and MFA from NYU will put you ahead of the wannabe actors. Agents and casting directors are prejudice about the quality of acting schools as shown on resume.

The wrong schools can land your resume in the trash can! I worked at a couple of talent agencies, as well as for an Executive Producer of Television, for a major entertainment company. I know what I'm talking about.

Good luck and enjoy NYC!

I would have to say California. It's where it all begin, well at least the film business from what I hear. But NY has some great schools for acting. Check them out.

I agree with the person above - NY is known for theatre. LA is known for TV/Movies.
