No. I lived over there for six years, and I worked with a lesbian couple from the UK. They definitely kept their lesbianism to themselves, because it's just not accepted over there like it is here.
And don't expect "this is how I am, so just accept it and accept me" to work in Japan. It would be a mistake to expect the Japanese to change their culture in order to accomodate your "alternative lifestyle." It would also be culturally arrogant.

i lived there for a year......
maybe its cuz i had gay school mates, they were kind enough to show me nice gay hang-outs. and also i was living in tokyo, the hub of everything.... i had great times there..... but thats digressing *blush*
but general consensus would be "dont flaunt your sexuality and dont try to show it down their throats....."
you planning to elope there or something? ;)

No not really they can't even show frontal nudity in thier porn.

have you seen their porn? they might mask the genitals...things that they do are no less than any other porn industry..if not more....
