Yes, Depo-Provera can prevent a baby from implanting in the womb if pregnancy does occur. This is true for all hormonal methods of birth control, which can work in three ways:

I believe that the Depo shot is different from other birth controls. It basically makes your body think you're pregnant, so you never produce an egg. But you do gain a bunch of weight and actually look pregnant. So it's bad.
