The threat is the spread of the "Castro idea of taking matters into your own hands" -- an idea which has a lot of appeal to impoverished people in the region who might try to do the same thing, stimulated by the Cuban revolution.
I am all for that.

You state:
"Cuba is not Communist though... Cuba lives under a dicatatorship, the opposite of rule by the people i.e. Communism."
1. You really think Communism is "rule by the people"???
2. You really think Cuba is not Communist? Maybe you should check the CIA World Factbook before you make yourself look even more ignorant. Cuba's government type is "Communist state".

Communism is not "rule by the people". According to the dictionary it is: Communism-
A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.
The Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine that advocates the overthrow of capitalism by the revolution of the proletariat.
So, yes, Cuba is Communist.

Because of what America stands for. If we were open minded about things we would see the genius in some types of goverment. Though Dictation would not be the greatest for America, in places like Cuba, it is better for that population to have some sort of guidance.

In his earlier years Fidel gave Russia the opportunity to house nuclear missles in Cuba; he exiles people who politically disagree with them; and he once worked pretty hard at spreading his communism to El Salvador and Nicaragua (sp). Should we just forget all of these things? I hope not.

to the one who said Castro invaded Grenada. I'm sorry I didn't know that construction trucks and school supplies were weapons. And you can ask someone who passed history and they will tell you who invaded Grenada and murdered the president. Guess who????? Any ideas??????
