I think a traitor is the singular from the word treacherous. Used in history as a political tool perhaps against a king such as, if you said something that was against your monarch it would be deemed potentially harmful to their career (revolution) hence you would be committing treason by saying this and become a traitor to your king and country, Nowadays it has been used loosely if someone speaks ill of another person, as the meaning no longer has such relevance due to free speech.

someone who usually has shell shock, post traumatic stress disorder... a lot of good men died for this reason... at the hand of there own...
then you have low life persons that rat on there own country, and endanger national security, and/or gives over official secrets...
you can be a traitor in any country...
you can evan be a traitor to religion!!!

someone who did something you did not want them to do. and because you don't think they should have done it they are wrong so as you are right they must be a traitor.

lets say you worked in a goverment department and you had access to top secret info and you passed that info on to a diffrent goverment in a diffrent country you would be a traitor to your country.
