I don't feel that rap music is a bad influence on people. I think many times, people or teenagers get caught doing something they know they shouldn't, and then they (and sometimes the parents!) try to find something or someone else to place the blame on. Many times, the blame gets placed on the media. However, most of the people that are old enough to understand it, and old enough to know better!!

I don't like rap. It's crap. but it all depends on what ur rapping about, and the rap music of today sucks! Yes, it influences people. Music, movies, friends, family, they all have influence in the lifes of people they touch. I'm not saying all people who listen to rap are thugs, and all who listen to gospel music are holier than thou, but what I am saying is that there are a lot of people who listen to rap, who try to act like the gangstas that the music raps about, and the gospel listeners, they do take the words to heart, and some try to preach it and teach it, and still...others try to practice. It's only as harmful as we let it become, but we have to think before we act. As far as rap music and it's possee, here's a question? Would u want some guy to do to ur sis or mom what they speak of in those songs? Probably not...so why would u do that stuff to someone else's sis or mom? If a guy really knew what a pimp did for a living and how he kept his hoes, I don't think any self-respecting MAN would do such things to the women they wish to court, or f---. The people who let these aweful lyrics influence them are boys and girls pretending to be men and women...yeah, it's a catchy beat, but I bet u wouldn't got sing that stuff to ur mom even though the tune is SO catchy.

Personaly I don't like rap. I don't have anything agianst rap with meaning, but I don't like it.
A lot of rap is about the same thing, and usualy the influences and refrences are bad.
If rap has a meaning other than sex and drugs, I don't mind it.
But if its just the same damn thing over and over agian about getting laid, having partys, and being rich, I really think that it is bad and can cause an influence.
Some people feel like they have to create an image, and because they look up to rappers, they think their image has to be like the rappers. If they listen to rap that causes bad influenec, then yes, I do think it is bad.

Music and anything in life is what YOU make it. Rap is a style of yes...music. No everyone doesn't like it...so...what's life without variety? I won't say i dont like rock or country music or that i dont recognize it as music just becuase i dont like it. Preference like anything else is based on You.Your culture and how u were raised.

People make their own decisions. All music has had bad influential lyrics. We make up our own minds as far as our actions go.

Rap music represents who i am and i will ALWAYS uplift it.

All rap music does not have violent or explicit lyrics. One shouldn't be so judgmental on such a broad genre of MUSIC.

i think rap is one of the best genres of all time why? because the rappers are starting to win more awards rap is starting to blossom overnight rap actually does influence people eventhough sometimes they use foul language.to me personally i dont think rap is bad,its actually hot right now

i luv rap music!!!! itz probably the most creative type of muzic i've heard, u just have to listen to the right artists. music doesn't make people do things, people make people do things. i don't see why so many people say that rap music iz bad when most of our muzic from any genre has foul language. itz hard to watch a muzic video, rock, hip-hop,club music, etc. that doesn't have a girl dressing to the point where u can see most of her breat and other things. so no, itz not just rap muzic. and no itz not every rap artist. music wasn't meant to be bad, it just so happens that in todays society 90% of our muzic iz lude and disgusting. and itz all because of one thing: SEX SELLS.

i dont liek it cause of how it sounds. But you know what rock and country both do the same thing. There are alot of country songs about drinking. There is alot of rock songs about drugs and women. I mean rap gets the most graphic for sure. But kid rock sings about drugs. You know what Voodoo by godsmack is about herion. I think rap is blunt, where rock and country mask their lyrics using metaphors.
Even johnny Cash sang about killing people.
