The Earth is surrounded within a magnetic field and every century or so the field flips from pole to pole causing low and high frequencies of forces to be pulled to opposite ends thus causing different weather patterns and different forces acting on the Earth. There is a documentary on how and why the Sunami that struck Sri Lanka, Indonesia and lower parts of Asia; it explains this theory in extreme detail... quite interesting.

Global Warming and a U.S. President who doesn't think we need to do anything about it.
Global warming is causing the earth to heat up and the arctic poles to melt changing the weather for everyone on earth.
We know that global warming is caused by gases from vehicle emissions and power plants and there are ways to prevent it, but the U.S. government doesn't believe the validity of the reports from the NRDC (National Resources Defense Council).
For more info and ways to help stop global warming, you can check out the NRDC's website (safe site): http://www.nrdc.org/globalWarming/

The weirdness of the weather nowadays is due to the thinning of the earth's ozone layer. And it's caused by man's destruction to Mother Earth..... the cutting of trees that give us oxygen and pollution that gives too much carbon dioxide.

I'd have to say because we must have done something really bad to peeve the guy upstairs off. Scientists actually are unsure if it's because of what we humans are doing in terms of global warming, if it's a cyclical event, or a combination of both. Myself, I'm trying to get back in the big guy's graces.

The earth is entering a period of gradual warming, according to most sources.
There is no one cause; it will take millions of years for any real change to occur.
The particular period that we are encountering right now is just a hiccup in the general planetary environment. It may last no longer than ten or so years.
None of us will be around to witness any real change.
