This is going to be quite a fist of football. Argentina, Holland, Portugal and Mexico - all have the pedigree to not only reach the finals, but to win the world cup too. Sadly however, two of these teams will have to go home without even reaching the quaterfinals!

It will be a sad ending for either of these four MEGA teams to go home after such a wonderful display of football.

So, who will have to go home early? Will it be;

1. Argentina and Holland,
2. Argentina and Portugal,
3. Mexico and Holland or
4. Mexico and Portugal ?

Very tight?

I have to disagree, the Mexican Team does not have what it takes (technique, mental game) to compete with Argentina.

Portugal may give a surprise to Holland, but my best guess is that Argentina and Holland will cruise to the next stage.

Mexico vs Argentina, Argentina by far 3-0 - Argentina and Brazil in the finals - Easily the only two teams that have shown superior talent, the rest fear these two power houses.
The other two teams are evenly matched, but Holland has a slight advantage

well am sure that if Argentina plays against Mexico Mexico is going to lose they lost the reason game by missing a penalty which was sad so Argentina has a bigger chance, in Holland v. Portugal well Holland play good so let see how that goes

Sorry to disagree -- of the 4, only Argentina has the potential to win the Cup. They'll easily defeat Mexico.

The other game is more difficult to predict, but I think Portugal has a chance.

BTW, I'm really amused by the ignoramuses who make moronic remarks such as calling real football "a gay sport". I read an article by a psychologist that stated an obsession in calling others "gay" denotes a sub-conscious proclivity toward homosexuality. It seems to be a defense mechanism. So, "steve0fgwar", when are you going to come out of the closet? ...

As for the equally stupid answer by "breathing", let me say that REAL football is a marvelous sport, low-scoring and therefore unpredictable, and the ONLY truly world-wide sport -- unlike those strange things that are so popular in North America and nowhere else. Whether or not it is popular in the U.S. is a matter of absolute indifference to civilized countries around the world. So, please shut up and return to the hole from which you crawled.

Mexico can beat Argentina. Why so little hope for Mexico? Because Argentina sends more palyers to Europe? Mexico has a good paying league so they don't have to sell their players to other countries like countries with less money.

Mexico & Portugal will be boarding the early flight. ARG is simply too strong for Mexico and I Portugal always blows it somehow. This time possibly in extra time. The Dutch will have very strong support from Oranje fans.

My heart would love to see MEX advance.
