You can get a CD Burner, but I would suggest a DVD burner since it does both CD's and DVD's and it costs about $30 more.

I believe that you probably have a burner. Most cd drives for the last several years are in fact burners. Go to device manager and click on cd\dvd drives. If in fact you do not have a burner then you can buy one, about $20-$25. If you do go this route install it as the master and keep your drive as a slave. Very handy when copying disks.

If you're running Windows ME, you're on a PC that's at least 4 years old, and probably 5 or 6 years old. Considering the cost of an external CDRW drive is going to be in the $50-60 range, while you can get a decent entry level Dell for $379 with 512MB RAM, 160GB HD, 16X DVD+/-RW drive (also burns CDs) and a 17" monitor. Do yourself a favor, and upgrade.

You can buy and add on CD burner for a less than $25 (Fry's or Best Buys). Get rid of Windows ME - it is MS horror story (never heard of a satisfied customer)

You'll need an external burner. Your computer may not have enough rams or speed to run it. If you cp will run it, there's a download called musicmatch jukebox that will run it.

Unless the circuitry that's used for reading CD-Roms has burnt out? I'd take it to a computer repair shop and see what the trouble is.

yes, get yourself a cdrw, they are inexpensive and very easy to install, just follow the instructions that come with it, they also come with the software to burn cd's with. Windows ME is fine, I burned probably 1000 cd's with it. People who know ME, just don't know anything about it, they are intim, idated by it, You will have no problem

You want a rewritable/redable cdrom drive. Almost anyone who knows how to fix computers, can install it. You might be able to download soemthing, but it's not guranteed to work as well.
