some of them, like this one...stimulate me to think why....
i think i like this form of communication.
no arguments that tear small groups apart...
less message board, tasteless, no information shared, no knowledge gained....no stop and think..{i digress} mentality.....message boards used to be better...
this is less personal in appearance, and yet more personal...deep...information is shared...
{if you can read between the bull@#&@}
thanks for good questions...
i won't even answer the other

I think I am addicted, I love being able to tell someone what I think, and you can get away with it here, I don't mean putting people down, its a way to offer advice or an opinion, and I have learned a lot from other peoples answers, I think that we all can learn from one another in some way, sometimes I feel bad that people don't take the asker more serious.

I like to help ppl if I can, whether it's here or somewhere else. So normally I answer stuff about ppl's personal problems or questions that respectfully ask for opinions on religious or philosophical or psychological matters. This is because I don't know a heck of a lot of facts to share. :P

So that maybe my opinion/wisdom will shed some light on someones dilemma or shortsightedness. It also gives me the impression that I'm actually maybe helping someone. I could also think I'm really smart and that I know everything and am in the position to give people guidance in their lives. I think it is a 80/20 split of that and the former :). I'm also at work and profusely bored.

I answer if the question intrigues me ... or, if I actually know the answer. Typically, I answer in paragraphs, not in a few words, and also try to provide a place where the ask-er can continue with research. I skip over most questions where someone is trying to get something inexpensively or "free" - or - if their question appears to be from a drunken/drugged-out visit to Answers.com.
What motivates you to answer???

If I think I might be able to help.
If I think I can bring a different perspective.
If I think it's a meaningful question.
If I think of a smartass answer.
If the question is funny.
Different motivations for different questions... usually.
For this question, I only had to make it to number 3.

Responding to all this questions helps me understand things better.
To answer I have to question myself, and this gives me more clarity in my own thoughts.
The carving for knowledge can be a vice.

At times it just entertains me and others are logical questions that I have an answer for. This question though was based mostly on how it was worded.
