He/She is in love and would rather live with that fire that burns between them than be without that person.
If two people think they are in love they will live through hell to be with the other. That is what keeps women in relationships that are abusive. I wondered for many years why women would rather be with an abusive man than with one that would treat her right. Treat her like a lady. Now I understand that women in those relationships think they are in love. But they really are not, and are fooling themselves.
