our family is having a cookout today (summer solstice) kids & hubby & me played in the pool, and had typical american summer fun, this friday is our groups Litha ritual,( i am 2nd in command of a non- tradtional group that teaches & explores many facets of paganism including heathenry, wicca, native american spirituality, core shamanism and psychic development) I am not officiating this time but I am invoking Brigid as per the request of the HP, looks like we are going to have a drum circle & a potluck dinner after the ritual...I havent read through the ritual yet so i don't know what my co-hort has planned...I like surprises!

My Grove (Celtic traditional Craft) got together Tuesday and made necklaces/bracelets/anklets incorporating symbols of the God, since this is the time when the sun is at its zenith. We also ate dinner and generally socialized. Since we are not, under the Tradition's rules, a coven (that requires a Priestess and Priest--both 2nd degree--and at least one other initiate, we lack a Priest), we just do some sort of seasonal activity for the Sabbats. But, if I want ritual, there are enough open circles here in town and nearby to find one.

being a pagan we do not literally celebrate the solstice we rather use it to look forwards and strengthen our own beliefs, mainly we celebrate it by adorning our homes with the flowers of the season, burn Oak logs on the fire and just enjoy the summer before harvest.
many Pagans like to make their way to such places as Stone Henge to watch the dawn rise, that is a recent tradition though.

Wouldn't miss it! Litha is a great holiday in the Wiccan tradition precisely because (at least in our path) it doesn't have a "fixed" style of worship--it can be very different year to year.

A blessed solstice to all those keeping this holiday...

We are going to have a Festival Feast then my aunt is going to a pagan right. After that im going to do a Midsummer Prayer. We made solar cross's today and they are hanging in the garden right now. Later we are going to jump over the cauldron with the fire going to bring prosperity. Then when it gets night we are going to do a fairy summoning spell.

Blessed Be
