how do we know life is real if it is so damn bad?

We cannot know, we can only believe.
And although there are bad things happening in the world, life is not bad for everyone at all times. There are things about life to be embraced and enjoyed.

We accept life as being real by believing that others have experienced what we are experiencing and that there are solutions to every problem. Be thankful that if you get at least 8 hours sleep a night, your only living two thirds of your life. Oh, and life gets better when we seek betterment for more than ourselves. Odd how that works.

Reality is only perception. We all see our own realm of existence through our own interpretation of life. We can however control our beliefs, reaction, and tolerance through the decisions we make on a daily basis.
I truly believe that we are put on this earth as a test...a test to our true strength and compassion by persevering through hard times. I understand that there are things in this world that is somewhat beyond our control such as politics, world hunger, poverty, and so forth. It is our decision to control how we react and deal with life's curve balls that help build our characteristics.
Bottom line is there is no one truth...truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Look around you at everything. I believe life is real because for the last 25 years I have watched everything around me grow older and I watched life grow inside of me when I carried my four children inside of myself. How would we grow, if there was no life?

life is not bad it is how you cope with it
