Ok, I am 14 years old and have been babysitting for 3 years. I am certified in First Aid and CPR and I live in a small city in Washington. I can't seem to find a good rate; I always seem to be rating to low and making the parents very very pleased or rating to high and making them angry...so what do you guys think would be a good rate for me?

I am 15 and have the same qualifications as you, so our situations are similar. For the past few years, I have had a weekly babysitting job for 3 hours one night a week. During these 3 hours, the 2 girls I babysit take an hour nap, and I am paid a previously-agreed upon wage of $20. However, I think this is slightly high, at $7/hr including a nap, and with other families I negotiate around $5/hr-$6/hr for 2 kids. Hope this helps!

I pay my sitter $20 for her services, which is usually about 3 to 4 hours. She watches my 10 month old for me while I play on my volleyball league.

I think it really depends on what you are expected to do. I think if you lay out to the parents hiring you what you do exactly for the rate you are asking (clean up messes, fix dinner and feed the kids, take them out to a park, etc.), they may be more likely not to think you very high. In my circle of friends, we all are paying $5 to $8 per hour, depending on the ages of the kids and how many there are.
