I never thought it was a big deal either. I think every time can be special and the first time doesn't need to be special. Who cares? I think it's just a throw back to a different time. I've never thought it was "giving" anything to anyone. When I engage in any kind of sexual activities with someone, usually it means something (usually), so why put penetration on some pedestal over everthing else?
I think a lot of the people who feel it is so special look at the romance and love side of sex only. I see that, but I also see the I like to have sex side of sex. If sex were only a love thing, I might have seen my "virginity" as something special. I just think that every single time could (or maybe not) be a really special time. Why limit yourself to just one?!
Hell, by then, I didn't even have a hyman - I was a gymnast, very common to tear it in sports.

Hi hunni,no means comments with me just honesty. Hunni different people have different views as to why it is a big deal to some people, and no it doesnt mean you lack self respect just because you dont find it a big deal. Some people find it a big deal because of how it is talked about, the media play it as somthing big alot of the time so when people loose it its like "wow" if you see what I mean. You need to understand that being a virgin then loosing it,to some people its like a new stage in there life. But to you it may not be you dont lack anything at all ,we are all different and react to things and life differently so its okay to not feel the same as maybe your friend would or anyone else. How to answer... losing your virginity i don't feel should be taken lightly because it is something you can never get back. Meaning, if it isn't with the person you plan on spending the rest of your life with that you are married to, why do you want to share something so special with just anyone, even if it is someone you say you love. I am glad that I waited (and I am 33) because that is something that my husband and I have that no one else has.
I figure this is either something you are contemplating or have already done, and yes, it has something to do with self respect. I am not saying that you don't have any, but when we allow ourselves to give in pre-marital sex or drugs or whatever the case may be, we aren't showing ourselves that respect we deserve... does that make sense?
Search your heart, for what is right. Not everyone has the same opinions and that is alright. No, I don't agree with it, I want to hold my body in a higher respect than that. But I also wouldn't look down upon you or anyone else for choosing the opposite. You have your agency, just as I do.
Once again, don't let anyone force you into it, and with that, don't let those that tell you not to, to frustrate you INTO doing it. Make your own choice, think of how it will affect you later on, and what the pro's and con's are to that choice.

I don't get it either! I mean, what's so special about being a virgin? The guy upstairs must have known that no Human was going to be a freakin nun like Mary, for God's sake!! I'm still a virgin and all, cuz if I wasn't, it wuld be dirty and $lutty. But If you're not a virgin,who cares? Not me! So, yeah...I'll be trying to figure out why virginity is so fricken special and crap.

A promiscuous person Is someone that'll have sex with any man /person they see. So either shes really horny ,or really desperate. If you're that desperate and or horny than you defiantly are lacking in Self respect. It doesn't matter if you're a girl or boy .
