Ok, Aunt May (Peter Parker's aunt) has been around since the 1960s, and back then, she was pretty old. So, let's say she was 60 when Spider-Man came out in 1963. So, now, she would be over 100? Shouldn't she be dead?
Come to think of it, shouldn't Peter Parker be old? Don't give me that "time is slower in comic land" because Peter parker graduated high school in one year of comic time and college in three years of comic time. However, from when he graduated college up until now, he hasn't really aged? Is it because time slows down as you get older in comic land?

I believe these cartoons, comics, soaps...represent our fear of death...how few of us have been prepared to talk about it...let alone face it...
I need only look at the banner industry of cosmetics and the growing number of products that 'turn back the hand of time' and our reluctance to put people to death for capital crimes.
The things many people call nostalgia...represent our steadfast refusal to acknowledge our finite lives as mortals...and to seize the moment and live it to the hilt.
The companies that put out these products...know this and capitalize on our fears...laughing all the way to the bank...but themselves terrified of living life as it is instead of some illusion.
I look at the vampire movies of the last decade...the proliferation of zombie movies in the last decade...the number of older males picking younger women...botox, collagen and plastic surgery on the rise with males now...
and I am suprised that Peter Parker has been allowed to age at all.
I sell comics in New York city. I have been reading comics since 1963. Let me tell you...Aunt may has died and come back quite a few times. And if we continue on as we have done...she will die and return quite a few more.
I was quite pleased when the meddling Xavier got his comeuppance by Jean Grey...in the movie that came out this year...for a while anyway.
I remember the Wrath of Khan...where Spock makes the ultimate sacrifice. I could not believe it...when I heard that they were going to bring him back. I think it was five years or so before I allowed myself to see the film. And it would have been better if i had not.
I won'tgive you time is slower in comics thingy...not at all.
Parker should be in his seventies...Aunt May should have been a memory thirty years ago...her wrinkled *** long rotted in the coffin...with just her hair and fingernails still growing in the detritus.
I suspect that until we change our addiction to the illusion of immortality...and trulybegin to enjoy life in its fullest...nothing will change in those comics...movies...soaps...
Literally.

it is the "time is slower in comic land" thing. wikipedia says that every 10 years of our time is about a tear of theirs in some cases. (or something along those lines.) to explain the college/peter parker thing: i see your point but remember comic book writers have to right to speed up or slow down their own timeline whenever they want.

In comic land nothing works in real time sport. And aunt may is still alive. Peter is like in his late twenties. Why would marvel make their heros live in real time, cuz they wouldnt have their cool superheroes but old people in capes.

Peter Parker was finally a Dad when Spider-girl was introduced. And didn't Aunt May die already? Well, I guess I don't know anything.

Why don't soap operas advance, why don't cartoon people change there cloths. How come sit-coms never change the set. They arn't to conern about advancing time, but story lines. If nothing is happening, they will advance time some more, but why go furhter when so much is happeing now. Let it go, and remeber, this sin't a time line, it's a story of certain events.

She has a number of Peters radioactive Spider blood coursing with the aid of her veins. this enables her to heal swifter and stay longer very similar to a healing element. the unhappy section is she truly does have Peters Blood. He gave her a blood transfusion in outstanding Spider-guy #10.

The same way the rugrats stayed babies for like 12 years: exercise and eating healthy. Also, wear sunscreen while outdoors, it prevents premature aging (in the rugrats case, aging at all).
