Definitely be versatile, but make sure to put your business card, resume, your customer profile, get inspiration page, have plenty of colored sketches, and flats are very important and if you can do them freehand instead of Illustrator that's a definite plus. Also if you have some Illustrator or Photoshop designs that's a definite bonus.
