I'm only a teenager and yes, I did have sex but I'm too scared to go tell my mom that I think I have one because she will accuse me of having sex. So, should I tell her or is there anything else i can do?

I have been having UTI's since I was 4 years old so I can definately assure you that they are not solely caused by sex. It is a bacterial infection which could be caused by something as simple as you wiped your bottom the wrong way and e-coli transferred from your anus to your urethra. Most women will at least get a few in their life.
You should definatley tell her so she can take you to the doctors. Antibiotics are the best way to clear up a UTI.

How do you know you might have a UTI? Are you voiding a lot? First, to deal with that, you need to go to a doctor and get a urine test. That's the only way you'll know for sure. As for having sex, I think you should tell your mom. I take it you had unprotected sex--girl, I think you already know that was damn stupid of you. I won't go into that--but to get some support, you should talk to your mom. Best of luck to you. By the way, having sex has nothing to do with having a UTI.

uninary tract infectins are not always caused by sex. So don't be afraid to tell mom. you will need an anti biotic to get ride of the infection or else it could spread to your kidneys and you will have real pain!

to prevent it from spreading much use hot water with some salt dissolved into it and splatter on your privates it might burn a little, but it does kill various infections. do this 3-4 times a day and you do have to go ot the doctor to get it checked out

that first girl is right, you dont always have a UTI because of sex, there are many many other reasons. not drinking enough water is one, if it gets worse, youre gonna have to tell your mom but if its not that bad, just drink lots and lots of cranberry juice and water, this really helps. also, they sell pills at kmart, walmart or target, they are called AZO standard pills or there are other brands, they work well.

UTI's arnt always caused from sex hun so let your mom know you think you have a UTI and ask if shell call your Dr. You need medicine to clear it up. If you don't get it cleared up you could get vary sick.

UTI's are not always related to sex, there are many other causes. you can buy over the counter medications and see if they work, if not contact your doctor and explain the symptoms to your mother, if you did not use protection it may be something more serious. in either case it needs to be treated as it can cause more serious problems if left to its own

i would suggest drinking plenty of water to start out with. stay away from soda. i have heard of some over the counter things you could use also. go to your local drug store & ask the pharmacist they are there to help. if it still does not work go to the doctor.
