It was the spaghetti w/ meatballs. Not cause of the spaghetti , (it was pretty good), but it had these wonderful moist red raspberry pound cakes in them rather than the dehydrated fruit cup or petrified oatmeal cookie bar. If the same guys got em two days in a row there was fights unless they handed 'em over or traded. That's how I remember my favorite mre, worth fighting over!!!!!

I didn't have M.R.E.'s I got K-rations. I liked the hamburgers, and I didn't even add water, tasted pretty good.

beef stew was pretty good from the old-school mre's, but the cheese tortellini that came in the new (as of '98) cases was definately superior.
in a pinch, anything but tuna with noodle or chicken ala king would stay down and fight off the hungry monster. even omelet with ham was palatable.

I remember those! Beef Stew was among the best! It was great too how they had little pieces of gum in them. I remember once I got a green piece and thought that was funny.

The husband says he would rather eat dirt than eat another mre but if he was starving to death then he would want the M&M's out of someones

my boyfriend says the lasagna isn't all that bad.. he said the rest are for the birds.
