what's it that turns an conventional toothpaste formulation right into a tooth whitening toothpaste? that is 2 significant substances really-a whitening agent like carbamide peroxide or sodium tripolyphospate PLUS an abrasive agent like silica (or calcium carbonate or dicalcium phosphate). And even as the whitening agent oftentimes receives each and each and every of the credit, that is really the tiny bits of silica that do many of the artwork. Abrasiveness is what really receives rid of floor stains from tooth - and the silica-like elements in whitening toothpastes create the abrasive action. Now, in reality, all toothpastes get rid of floor stains - that is purely that tooth whitening toothpastes have more advantageous abrasive formulations and hence act more advantageous rapidly, so that you observe a result swifter.

As long as the the toothpaste has fluoride, it doesn;t really matter. If one has sensitive teeth, the whitening toothpastes may prove a little too abrasive.

i dont think its bad for ur teeth... but if you really feel the need, use your regular (no whitening) toothpaste, and put a lil but of baking soda on the top of the toothpaste on your toothbrush while you brush. it helps briten and whiten your teeth without chemicals

well if you keep using the whitening ones then your teeth will get to be a little too white. so if they need to be whiter, use the whitening one, then just use the regular kind consistently and use it well. if your teeth start gettin discolored, then use the whitening.
