I'm so sorry to say this, but there's a pretty good chance that means that you are allergic! Have you just gotten him, and has this happened before? If it continues to happen, talk to your doctor about this, and they can try to do allergy tests to determine this for you.
Take care, and good luck!

I'm sorry sugar, but yes, you are allergic to your bunny, Vanilla. When you break out into hives that is an allergic reaction. You are allergic to the "dander". I'll bet your hives really itched, too! Make sure you wash your hands really really good after holding her and do this first thing, too. Because if you haven't washed your hands, and then you touch your eye, you're eye will get so itchy and red you'll be miserable. Also, wash the hive area in soap and water. There is a dander spray at pet stores that you spray on your bunny and wipe off with a paper towel..you should try that before making any kind of decision.... I should know cuz I've been there, done that! My bunnies' name was Rosie.

I would say more than likely you are. I would consult your physician ASAP. Sometimes peoples bodies will over-react and that might lead to exhaustion, vomiting, diarrhea, and so forth. I would not hold your bunny again until you can get into your physician. I would also suggest going to a allergy specialist. They will probably know more and can do more tests.
Best of luck!
