Stand in the center of the court. This way, it's just a step or two to wherever the ball is going to be. Also, stare at a spot in the center of the wall and let your eyes go a bit unfocused - this brings out your peripheral vision. This way, wherever the ball comes from, you see it out of the corner of your eye immediately, and you can start going toward it. When you hit the ball, get yourself beck to the center to wait for the next one. Don't pay too much attention to your opponent - concentrate on the ball and your position.

Get in a court by youself & practice different shots. Back wall shots & accuracy will improve, and you can develop a killer Z shot!
Also, Play with a coach a few times every other week!
