Get a 125, you're small enough (with a high bend handlebar) it should be plenty powreful for you w/ your weight. You will more than likely need to stay away from a 4-stroke until you are used to working on your own bike. Lets put it this way, if you don't know how to work on a 4-stroke head, its way easier to work on a 2-stroke. Dirt Rider magazine had an article a couple of months back about fitting a bike to taller/bigger riders that you may want to check out. So, YZ125 2-stroke would be a great call.

First timer? Start small and get your skills up. The 125F is kinda small for your size but you'll get more experience with proper control...Turning, using the controls, jumping. Then when your maxed out on the throttle at ALL times and can rail that baby, move on up. The 250 4 strokes are plenty of power for amatures. All in all I'd start with that 125.

Your size would be OK even on a 125, since you are a novice rider I would start with something that won't wheelie every time you let out the clutch. I would recommend, however, the 4 stroke Honda CRF 450, when your confidence level grows.

You're better off geting the 250. You might not use all the power all the time, but at least it's there when you need it. You'll be unsatisfied with the 125. Yes, it will still be fun, but there will be time when you'll be wishing for that extra bit of power, especially on those long hillclimbs.
