I have played piano since I was 5 (I am 25 now). I took lessons until I graduated from high school. The most important thing you need is patience. You are not going to be able to play cool stuff in a day. Probably not even in a year. It takes forever to learn piano. Especially if you are trying to teach yourself. I would advise paying a professional to teach you. At first it is going to be very boring, learning to read music, the different scales, finger exercies...etc...but if you really really want to learn stick with it. I used to hate going to my lessons the first few years. I wanted to play fun stuff that I knew, not the boring lessons the teacher had. But I stuck with it and now I can play whatever I want. I can sit down, read any sheet music, and just play it. I love playing. Once you get better at it and have more freedom to pick out the kind of stuff you want to play you will have more fun with it. It is a great thing to learn, but you really have to put alot of time and dedication in to it. Good luck!

go to your local music store and ask about piano instructors in the area. feel free to call all of them, and ask for info. they're usually very open. lessons should cost between $10-15, don't pay anymore. piano is one of the best skills to have. hope this gets you started. good luck

i play, just for fun now i stopped taking lessons a few years ago, but yeah i think you should learn, its not a very hard instrument and it'll feel great when you'll be able to play Bach easily. its all about the teacher you choose, mine was great she used to be a concert pianist she was pretty old but still sharp. you should feel really good about your teacher. and remember practice makes prefect...:) good luck
