i have a hairless guinea pig and its about 3 yrs old. Its pantingh today and i dunno why. it always makes noises but not like this. Could it be the heat? Its been 90 or close to it with no ac in that room where he is.

Well, I think the temperature in the room could cause the panting. I've observed that the hairless breeds of guinea pigs, rats, etc. do seem to have more health problems in general. You could try a cooler room, but not too cool since he's hairless. As for being "in heat" I'm not sure. If he keeps panting, I'd make an appointment with a vet.

You should see a vet. It's sounds like he may have asthma or allergic reaction to his bedding. If his bedding is not kept clean it's the ammonia from urine in the bedding causing him respiration problems.

If he has crusty stuff around his eyes or nose, it's a respiratory infection.

90* is to hot. 55 to 70 degrees..no more, no less. A fan in the room not blowing on him will help.

take him to a cooler room!
give him plenty of fresh cool water to drink and make sure that there is a little breeze in the room ( wait till hes not panting so much tho or you could shock him)

It's probably got HEATSTROKE!!

TAKE IT TO THE VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

Oh gosh I don't know but I do know that they do not live very long.You might want to check out www.Guinea Pigs.com They should know soomething.
