The best way to stop global warming is to de-fund the federal govt so they will stop producing crackpot-science that serves the interest of their investors.

The question shouldn't be can we stop it - we know there are long term cycles the Earth goes through naturally. See the following web site:
http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/paleo/milankovitch.html

The questions to be asked should really be: Is the warming caused by human activity or part of a natural cycle? Can or how will man's changes to the atmosphere affect these cycles? What will then happen if we do change them? Data has been collected for a relatively short time as far as climate is concerned. More sites are now collecting data than ever before. We are learning more with every year that passes, and with research in the Antarctic and Arctic.

Man wasn't the cause for the glaciers melting at the end of each respective ice age. Don't ignore natural cycles of warming and cooling yet, but keep an eye on what might happen if we alter the existing cycles.

There is no question as to whether earth is warming. The question is, what is the cause of the warming?

The funny thing is, warming may actually trigger a glacial period due to disruption of the North Atlantic conveyer...

For the record, man has ALREADY changed the composition of the entire atmosphere. Check the CO2 record for the last half century or so ...

One should never perform an experiment in an area from which he cannot remove himself to a safer place.

The experiment has already begun.

Anyone for space travel?

Block off part of the sun. Move the earth farther away from the sun. Open up Panama, let the Atlantic into the Pacific. Lots of things to stop global warming. Now what constitutes to late? Do you know that we have been warming up for 15k years? Do you know what is going to happen to the climate in the future? Do you know that global temperature decreased from 1945 to 1975? Aren't you worried about what caused that?

What should concern everyone is how easy it is to ride a wave of fear. As for society and climate, you will not stop the consumption of fossil fuels, and they will run out eventually. So why not be positive, and get on the alternative fuel bandwagon. Don't stress out about the climate. What will happen? Nobody knows. If they tell you they know, they are lying. Use your advocacy for promotion of the research and use of alternatives. At least that is my opinion.

Stop using fossil fuels at the rate we are so we produce less carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Just keep in mind that 'global warming' hasn't been proved to be a result of human activity. Over the billions of years Earth has been around, the planet has experience constant climate change. These changes sometimes take thousands or millions of years, so we could be in one of Earth's natural cycles. What human activity might really be doing is accelerating this natural process, and we are only concerned about it as humans because it threatens what civilized society has become used to since the Industrial Revolution.

Global warming is primarily a natural phenomenon. It results largely from volcanic gases. Additionally, the Earth is in a perpetual cycle of warming and cooling. This planet has been through several ice ages. Frankly, I don't think global warming can be stopped. We have to adapt. And give it a few hundred, or a few thousand years, and we'll be cooling off again!

It's not up to any Human as it is a natural occurrence,Scientists have recorded the same problems 200 years ago,it's a cycle the earth goes through,Anything humans can produce pales in comparison to one forest fire or a volcano. Why there is a problem now is that there are more people in areas that were once uninhabited hence we see a problem with weather changes because it's affecting people.

I can recall dire warnings on the cover of TIME Magazine etc. about the impending Ice Age. While I acknowledge that the data seem to show that the Earth is warming, climatological change is such a long process, I am not making any drastic changes to "save the planet". Prudent changes, yes, drastic changes, no.

To the people up top who support Hydrogen...where do you think Hydrogen comes from? Hydrocarbons think about it where do you store the Hydrogen? Do you want to drive around with a 100 gal equivalent tank in your trunk plum full of explosive stuff? All reasons we dont use Hydrogen this very moment. Tell the people on the Hindenburg blimp or whatever it was called to support Hydrogen transportation lol.

Who cares about spelling for crying out loud!

You could start by lobbying the US president and try getting him to admit that Global warming is fact. The sooner the world's largest source of greenhouse gases gets with the programme the better.

Global warming is caused by the destruction of the ozone and by the gathering of CO2 that keeps the radiations and heat on Earth. The solution : planting trees until the volume of producing CO2 is equal with the consummations of it. To cool a little our Earth we must plant trees, stop using energy produced by fire and stop cutting trees.

Global warming is a cycle of the earth and not caused by anything man is or can do. It is silly to think that man can affect the whole world.
Now there are things that we can do to environmentally make our neighborhoods cleaner and stop polluting our land and waters, and killing our wildlife.
