No, you should not appreciate each one more than the previous one. You should appreciate each one with fullness, leaving nothing to be better later or better earlier. The present is abundance, nothing else exists. Bliss therefore is attained when you truly learn how to put full awareness into each passing moment and breath.

Hypothetically, Yes. I don't think it is possible to "appreciate each [breath] one more than the previous." As human beings we are subject to rhythms in all aspects of our life. Our behavior and our feelings are influenced by our environment, our health, our current life conditions. I personally feel that we should enjoy every breath as if it were the last one. Truly enjoy life. Learn, laugh, and love, then every breath will be equally precious.

You know something sad? I live with the philosophy that we ought to notice the good things around us, like cute kittens and interesting clouds and sunsets. But I rarely notice my breathing unless it's abnormal somehow, and without that I wouldn't be alive to notice all the kittens and clouds and sunsets.
Every time I learn something, I'm just reminded of how little I really know. ;)

It is impossible to live like that. It is more important to just not take things for granted and strive to be happy everyday. You have to realize though that not every day will be a good day, but you should always make the best of it.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Open your eyes. Take one step forward. You can do it.

No. You should appreciate the quality of your life, your friends and family members and not worry about what's passing you by.
