Seems to me that it was always red. The car evolved along with the show in years, uh, the early 60's I think. that would make the care some of the earlier models.

It was a red Corvette. Several were used, but the last year was 1962 Stingray.

The only ones I remember were a '61 and '62, which were almost identical, and the only two years of that body style.
(stingrays started in '63)
