after reading these answers, its ashamed than some americans are closed minded. No wonder we have the worst society in the world. American Society should be ashamed of themselves. American Society morals are all screw up. the top 3 are sex, violence and try to screw the next person who comes along. I fell very sorry for American Society. they are shameless. We treat our elderly like crap and we are waiting for a family member dies to inherited their fortune. American Society is worthless compare to other Societies

YES!!! For starters, a little respect and acknowledgment of how, not only the U.S., but Canada as well, was stolen from the very people who tried to be friendly and 'good' to fellow man!

So you're not really talking about giving the "Indians" anything. You are saying that you and a bunch of your friends will go and be pretend Indians if the rest of us will just pay you to ride your horses and live outdoors with your own government paid for by the rest of us. Is that because we owed the real Indians something 200 years ago, we can make believe that you are those Indians then make believe that you need to have your own make believe country to play Indian in. When are you gonna find Tinker Bell, Peter Pan?

for my area no. were no longer the individuals who did that. We purely stay with the end results of it. Us owing dept for that could want to nicely be compared to a father raping a lady getting her pregnant and then making the youngster pay for that. we are no longer to blame or ought to make up for what others do before we are even in life. also if absolutely everyone in united states became to make up for it, that is going to strictly be the gov't with out public help(no tax payers funds). i comprehend that what befell is faulty yet you could't blame us for it. We did not pick this, we got here from it. we must be grateful that, that befell. It created an section for a good distinct society. to guarantee that something sturdy to ensue, something negative might want to ensue first. Like how global warfare II were given us out of the melancholy. thousands and thousands died then the flourish from that turned right into a more suitable monetary gadget.

No. Any more than they owe the ancestors of the indigineous peoples they displaced then they arrived.

But nothing's stopping you now from living like an indian. Get a horse (or the modern equivalent, the bicycle). Don't buy snacks. Hunt or fish for your food with home-made weapons. Forage for food, and use pine needles for toilet paper. If you want to live like an indian, get off your butt, quit blaming Bush or other people for your petty problems, and start doing it. Quit whining.

What about the Canadians - do they not owe anything? And the Italians - I mean, Julius Caesar DID conquer Gaul, did he not?

And what about the Norman invaders - wouldn't you think they owe the original Britons something?

And what about the Cubans? I mean, they've run all the Anglos out of South Florida - shouldn't we be getting something for that?

Let's all give all of our wealth to somebody else, and then somebody will give theirs to us, and then we can shut down the casinos and factories and offices and just all give each other blood money. That'd be great.

Totally! Just like we've done for others when we completely infringe on their rights.

What is the government going to do about all of us now that they've done the same thing to all Americans with, 9/11, the Patriot Act, the War on Terror, etc.

Who died and gave the land to the Indians anyway?

Oh that's right, members of the other tribes they killed to get it. My bad.

Hey with that simplistic view of world history, I'm going to northern Italy and take the land the Romans took from my family 1900 years ago.

Thats all impractical though, and the natives of today dont do that.
They drive cars and eat a lot of bad sh1t for them and lots are alcoholics. We should not owe them anything because we stole the land from them after they stole it from another tribe.
They shoulda evolved faster and came up with guns first if they wanted to keep their land.

The native americans allready receive "something" for what the "americans" did. They get free money, free doctors and medications, free schooling, ect... They basically get everything for free. On top of that they have casino's which all of us stupid *** "white,ect..." people go give our money to. Seems they are doing very well. Oh yeah, and our laws don't apply to them so I don't see where they're missing out on anything.

Seems to me that they are entitled to something. It is difficult to determine what?

Honestly - It will never happen. If you provide some type of entitlement to native american you then set a precedent. That would lead to the african-american and slavery issue.
