i'm definitely not a rat. but i am a little crazy, so i'd bring a tek-9 and take care of them myself. then i'd report on their bodies and appologize for their lack of comments.

Yeah Im American. I highly doubt a top wanted terrorist on the FBIs list would invite a reporter for a newspaper to a TOP SECRET location for an interview. They couldnt be that stupid. But if he did, of course I would, as I am assuming the average person would too. I probably wouldnt bring a gun though cause you know all the things that could go wrong with that.

No, I would not divulge his whereabouts. If he's smart, he'd move anyway after the interview. The "secret location" would be nowhere near his true headquarters.

I believe in a reporter's right to keep privileged information, much like doctors and priests do. This privilege assures that people will divulge information to newspapers, information the public should know. BTW, I majored in journalism in college.

However, if some informant was betraying that top-wanted terrorist and I interviewed the informant and he told me about or showed me the secret headquarters, then I'd work with my editor as to when to publish this info and when to tell this to the police or to our government (hopefully within hours of each other). I would not give away my informant's name unless he/she wanted me to.

Typically those top secret interviews are set up so that the reporter has no idea where the interview took place - blindfolding, riding in the back of a closed truck, etc... just to eliminate the temptation.

Assuming that wasn't the case - sure, I'd divulge his location. Of course, I would expect him to change his location immediately following the interview.

You say "Americans like us"...
Do you want us to believe that terrorist activity does not affect the rest of the world?
Or are we to believe that no other nationality cares as much as Americans?
Are you relating to the 9/11 attacks when you say "killed thousands of American citizens in one instance"?
Are you not aware that many people of various nationalities also lost their lives that day?
Your question shows exactly why Americans are considered arrogant. I am Scottish & I would tell the authorities his location in a heartbeat as I am sure 99% of people would.

You could, but I don't see where it would do any good. By the time you told the authorities his location, the terrorist would probably be gone.

No, I will not divulge the location. Same with a doctor who treats an enemy combatant, I will not kill him.

But for kicks, I still wouldn't tell. The US gov't got itself in this SH*T I wouldn't ruin my reputation for the glory of the administration!

why would you even go to the terrorist location?...see that kind of stupidity is why so many journalists are getting killed over in Iraq and other foreign lands.

Why does this question only apply to Americans?

I would not, for the simple reason that he/she would probably relaise that is the first thing said reporter will do.

I would call the proper authorities and then have them surround the place (silently..waiting for their attack) while you get your interview. After I got my interview I'd let them go ahead and get them....and your interview could be used against him in his trial.

Not American, but yes I would having first got my story. I would have to go first to make sure it was genuine! Lives are more important than money and anyone who is a terorist is a coward anyway - they deserve to get their *** kicked!
