i'm 14, girl, 5'5'' and 98 lbs.
....and i have alot of armpit, leg, arm, and VAGINA hair.
i want to shave or wax it off, but since we're american indian, my mother won't let me.
people at school make fun of me because i'm hairy in places that all the other girls shave off.
what should i do?

Here are your options.
Make fun of them for something about them
Ignore them.
Don't be friends with them.
Tell them it's rude what they are doing, it's in your family tradition to not remove body hair and so they are insulting you and your ancestors.
Make friends who like you for who you are.
BTW. How do they know you have a hairy VAGINA? Are you showing it to people???
You are at an age that no matter what you do someone will make fun of you. This will probably be the most judgmental time of your life.
All teens are like that, it's a time during human development that tries to force individuals to conform to rules and social standards, those who do not conform are rejected and are ridiculed.
The joke is that no one conforms 100% and some of the best and most interesting people you will ever know conform the least.
Don't shave or wax it, just be 14, you never will be again. So forget these people, you won't know them in a few years anyways, and be an individual unto yourself.

Hi, Sorry about your Mom, but shave the armpits with a Venus, and use a product like Nair on the legs and arms so it doesn't grow back heavier and coarser. I won't tell you what to do in the other location, that's too private, that will have to be up to you to decide when the time comes.
Good luck, and don't focus too much on it, it will be with you all your life, just deal with it and forget it! You'll be just fine.

I understand that it is your custom to not shave your hair. You'll either have to sit down with your mother and have a talk about it; calmly tell her how self conscious that it makes you feel, how you'd feel cleaner if you shaved your armpits and legs, and how you feel like you don't fit in. Also explain that shaving doesn't effect your heritage and you are still the same person regardless of if you shave your armpits and legs.

That's really hard at your age. Talk to a counselor at school, they may be able to give you some advice with talking to Mom.
Believe it or not it won't bother you when you get a little older.
Is there another relative or Dad around that may help you convince your Mom to let you shave?
I would just start with the armpits & see how that goes.

let them make fun of you , you will realize that what other people make fun of is usally what makes you strongest whneyou get older.. don't let american ideas of beauty destroy your natural beauty .. if you are american indian you are already rare an more beutiful than most american citizens already.. you live in a population made up of mutts . tell them they are just jealious of that fact an they can not ever change that..
i am a quarter cherokee indian an i take pride in that everyday . you should be very proud of the fact that you are one of the last true americans...

i also think you should tell your mother that people make fun of you because of her not letting you shave
on the other hand, you could be unique & try to make being hairy a fad! who says having no hair is better than having hair????

just shave off your vagina hair without her knowing, its not like she is going to look. then shave off whatever else, i mean what is she going to do? make you put it back on? the only thing that can happen is she is going to be mad, she'll get over it.
